Ivan Orovio is the founder of Savage Woods and facilitates all procurement & sales for the company. Previous experience in purchasing, sales engineering, business development and commercial trucking provide him with the perfect skill set to negotiate wood purchases at the source and transport them back to Texas for our customers. Ivan is enthusiastic when it comes to beautiful timber and is committed to providing the perfect wood to each and every customer! Wes Reynolds – Wood Master
Wes Reynolds has been in the woodworking business for over 30 yrs. His passion for working with wood started with carpentry in high school. Adding to his skill set of building homes, he progressed in the trade of custom homes and cabinetry design. He is highly skilled in cabinetry, furniture, and artisan design. For the past 14 years with his custom woodworking company, Wes has crafted butcher blocks counter tops and custom furniture to his customers’ specifications. One of Wes’s trademarks is the inlaying of fine wood veneers into his own custom furniture. Some of his finer works of art have been sold through galleries in Austin, Houston, and other cities throughout Texas. Wes also prides himself on precision resaw solutions for the luthier industry and we trust the processing of our precious tonewoods to no one else. Wes brings a wealth of knowledge to Savage Woods and is one of the main processors for all lumber that we import. His keen eye for maximizing lumber cuts and ability to get the most out of each and every piece is highly appreciated. Residing in Leander, Texas and married with 2 children, Wes plays a critical role here at Savage Woods.
Darvey Arenas
– Regional Associate
Darvey Arenas resides in Quintana Roo, Mexico and fills several important roles at Savage Woods, including inventory management at the source. Darvey is married with two children and frequently enjoys kayaking and spearfishing on the Caribbean coast. Darvey is advancing his understanding of fine lumber and possesses an innate ability to locate new sources for specific timbers. His attention to detail is very noteworthy. Whether it is strapping the load correctly, triple checking permits and documentation or locating new sources for Savage Woods, he is a relentless perfectionist – And we greatly appreciate him!
